On February 27th, Global X ETFs announced the launch of two innovative ETFs, namely the Global X Hang Seng Index Covered Call ETF (03419) and the Global X China A Covered Call ETF (03416). These are the world's first two covered call option ETFs referencing the Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index, and also the first two covered call option ETFs listed in Hong Kong. These two ETFs are designed for investors and reference the Hang Seng Index and China A Index, while employing a covered call option strategy. The covered call strategy involves selling call options on some of the related index constituents. In addition to stock dividends, investors can also earn additional income from the option premium.
