GFS Hong Kong announced today its latest "Hong Kong Investor US Market Investment Survey," analyzing the strategies and deployment of Hong Kong investors in the US market. The survey results show that investors, especially young and high-income groups, have a strong interest in US stocks (half of the respondents said they were "optimistic"), while also revealing the risk of over-concentration in investments (77% of respondents have concentrated holdings in large tech US stocks), and the potential unmet demand for professional financial advice. The research was conducted in December 2025 with 800 investors through an online questionnaire, exploring their investment habits, key factors in investment decisions, and overall outlook on US stocks. Jiaming Financial Services Hong Kong Limited's Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor, Lin Changjie, said, "Hong Kong investors are clearly attracted by the growth potential of the US technology sector, but they also need to strengthen their awareness of risks while being enthusiastic. The current environment is characterized by market volatility, geopolitical uncertainties, and the phenomenon of focusing on a few large US companies, which requires a cautious approach and a deeper understanding of market fundamentals. Despite the optimistic market sentiment, our research shows that many investors have not received enough assistance to cope with the current complex market changes. They clearly need professional guidance, comprehensive educational resources, and more diversified channels for investing in the US market." He explained that since many Hong Kong investors still overly focus on Hong Kong stocks, adjusting asset allocation to invest in the US stock market while holding local shares can bring significant risk diversification benefits. Currently, only a few investors can access this professional advice to build a balanced investment portfolio.
