The French Bank of Paris stated that the sentiment of American investors towards Chinese mainland and Hong Kong stocks has significantly changed, with a total of $14 billion in funds flowing in from December last year to February this year, the highest for a three-month period in over three years. Recent data on fund inflows indicate that American investors have improved confidence in Chinese mainland and Hong Kong stocks. According to the French Bank, it is estimated that these fund inflows will increase the total holdings of Chinese mainland and Hong Kong stocks by American investors to a record high of $466 billion. This may suggest that after a significant outflow of funds from 2021 to the first half of 2025, American capital owners are now willing to shift more capital towards the Chinese stock market.
Resisting the volatility, these funds have reached record highs against the trend, with some achieving a year-to-date return of up to 78%.
Scale increased more than 10 times compared to last period. Ping An Dingyue hybrid fund increased by nearly 17% in Q1, with investments focusing on AI electricity and AI hardware.
