According to media reports, former J.P. Morgan private banker Yvonne Leung has returned to HSBC after more than 20 years to take on the role of Head of Asia Multi-Asset Specialists in the asset management department. Leung responded on social media, saying: "I look forward to working side by side with one of the largest and most accomplished multi-asset investment teams in the region. Under the leadership of Yiit Onat, I believe we will further expand our business footprint in Asia." Leung joined J.P. Morgan in August 2016 as an Executive Director and Investment Portfolio Specialist. From December 2020, she served as Head of Asian Management Solutions for J.P. Morgan's Private Bank. In March of this year, there were reports in the media that she would be leaving J.P. Morgan, and she stated that her future plans would be announced at a later date. Leung began her career in the financial industry at Citibank in September 2001 before moving to HSBC Private Bank three years later. In 2010, she joined Goldman Sachs Group as an Executive Director of the Private Wealth Management Investment Portfolio Management Group. Leung has previously stated that geopolitical tensions make diversified investments inevitable, and investors should broaden their portfolios by viewing Asian stocks and gold as complementary diversification tools: while Asian stock markets offer compelling valuations and strong growth, gold has shown resilience under geopolitical pressure, making them two pillars of a diversified investment portfolio.
