On May 13, Houghton Group announced a leadership transition in its Hong Kong operations, effective from July 1, 2026. Alaric Lee has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong, replacing Alfred Sham who will be moving to Singapore to serve as the Chief Strategic Officer for Asia. The appointment of Alaric Lee is subject to regulatory approval. Alaric Lee currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer for Asia, with extensive regional experience including over a decade of work in Hong Kong, where he has built strong relationships and deep market expertise. In his new role, Alaric Lee will lead Houghton's Hong Kong operations, focusing on driving strong momentum, deepening customer relationships, and driving continued growth in one of the region's most important markets. "I am looking forward to returning to Hong Kong and taking on this new role," said Alaric Lee. "It is a market I am very familiar with, with huge opportunities, and I look forward to working closely with the team to continue delivering results for our clients on the strong foundation we have." Alfred Sham led the Hong Kong operations for two years, during which the business doubled in size. He will now take on broader regional responsibilities as the Chief Strategic Officer for Asia, focusing on driving Houghton's growth goals through new initiatives, acquisitions, and entry into new markets. "Leading the Hong Kong operations and working with such a talented team has been an honor for me," said Alfred Sham. "I am proud of the progress we have made together and look forward to contributing to Houghton's continued development in the region in my new role." This transition reflects the company's commitment to nurturing internal talent and aligning leadership capabilities with strategic priorities in Asia.
