According to the Freshwater Springs Investment website, the company was established in 2007 and primarily engages in investments in mainland China, as well as developing private equity securities investment, overseas hedge funds, and institutional account business. Freshwater Springs (Hong Kong) was established in 2010, with SPRINGS CAPITAL LIMITED as the controlling shareholder.
