The Hang Seng Index Company has authorized Huatai Bairui Fund Management Co., Ltd. ("Huatai Bairui Fund") to use the Hang Seng Stock Connect High Dividend Low Volatility Index as the exchange traded fund - The Hang Seng Stock Connect High Dividend Low Volatility Exchange Traded Open-Ended Index Securities Investment Fund is a tracking index. The fund was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on September 20, 2024. As of August 30, 2024, the total assets under management of the fund were approximately 308 million RMB. The Hang Seng Index Company stated that in the current market conditions, low volatility strategies with dividends as a buffer are receiving attention from investors. The Hang Seng Stock Connect High Dividend Low Volatility Index ("HSHYLV") aims to reflect the performance of high dividend low volatility stocks listed in Hong Kong that can be traded through the Stock Connect. Stocks included in the index must have a record of cash dividend payments for three consecutive fiscal years, and the recent full-year dividend payout ratio must be positive. In terms of index performance, as of August 30, 2024, the total return of the Hang Seng Stock Connect High Dividend Low Volatility Index over the past year was 18%, outperforming the Hang Seng Composite Index's decline of 0.3% during the same period. In addition, compared to the Hang Seng Composite Index, the index has a higher dividend yield of 6.7% (compared to 4.1% for the Hang Seng Composite Index) and a lower annualized volatility rate of 17.4% (compared to 20.8% for the Hang Seng Composite Index). It is reported that with the addition of the above-mentioned exchange traded fund, there are a total of 113 exchange traded products linked to the Hang Seng Index series listed on 12 different exchanges worldwide. As of August 30, 2024, the total assets under management of passive tracking products of the Hang Seng Index series were approximately $66.6 billion.
